Abbas Zafar, the director of blockbuster films like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, has started work on his next film. This time he is going to make a film on the 19th anti-Sikh riots.

It may be mentioned that after the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the 19th century, violence against Sikhs erupted across the country.

To be honest, Ali Abbas Zafar had wanted to make a film on riots for some time. Now he has found a topic to work on the script. As well as producing the film, he is also writing the story of the film. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

The report further states that Ali Abbas Zafar and his team are in talks with Diljit Dosanjh. Diljit seems to be right for this character. The actor is said to have said yes to the role. The idea is to start the film after the situation in the country returns to normal.

Interestingly, Diljit has acted in a Punjabi film based on the Kesikh riots. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film was titled Punjab-12 which was released in 2013. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi.
