Anupama: What do dreams and ambitions have to do with age?

- The show 'Anupama', which has crossed the milestone of one thousand episodes, is not only entertaining women. Male viewers also identify with the plot of the show

Television shows often revolve around popular themes such as kitchen conspiracies and supernatural mysteries. Amidst such an established tradition, three years ago there was a significant change that gripped the audience. Rupali Ganguly starrer show 'Anupama' recently celebrated the milestone of one thousand episodes.

The unorthodox storyline of the show is the brainchild of visionary producer Rajan Shahi, who credits the start and success of the show to his mother Deepa Shahi, who breathed life into the daily show at the age of 78.

Although the well-educated Deepa Shahi could have taken up any occupation, she consciously chose to prioritize family. He says, 'Initially my focus was on family, not career. Life experiences have instilled in me the confidence that I can make a valuable contribution to Anupama's narrative. That's why Rajan roped me in as a co-producer.'

Deepa says, 'Initially I was skeptical about the story revolving around a 50-year-old woman who goes against the grain and faces life's challenges. However, this doubt was misplaced, as the show was meant to appeal not only to women, but also to men.'

Deepa asserts, 'The show has acted as a mirror for male viewers and taught them about the importance of sexual equality and supporting women's aspirations.'

The creators of the show didn't want to revolutionize the world but Deepa Shahi was pleasantly surprised to see the support of the audience with her unparalleled journey. Viewers have been inspired by unparalleled experiences.

Deepa claims, 'This show is giving peace and happiness to women abroad. Many have realized that age and circumstances are not barriers to realizing dreams and that passion can be rekindled.'

Deepa insisted that the show's characters tackle important issues like domestic violence and mental health.

Pakhi's character played by Muskan Baman peeks into the world of child mental health. The show seeks to challenge India's tendency to value physical health over mental health and recognizes the deep connection between the two.

Now that the show has crossed the milestone of a thousand episodes, Deepa Shahi has expressed satisfaction over the entire journey. He says, 'Being a part of this journey has been really fun. Anupama continues to face incomparable obstacles and gains strength from each challenge and becomes stronger. The show's narrative is a beacon of empowerment, embracing change and challenging viewers to find the potential within themselves.'

It's a fact that many viewers who have given up watching TV have come back to the small screen because of 'Anupama'!
