Rajivakpur, the youngest son of the great artist late Rajakpur, has died of a heart attack. Speaking of Rajiv's film career, Ram Teri Ganga Meli was the only well-known film but Rajiv did not get much credit as an actor for the success of this film. The film was a super hit with Mandakini's bold scenes and Ravindra Jain's melodious song music.

The scene of Mandakini wearing a white sari under the springs became very famous. However, the most controversial scene in the film was that of Brist Feeding. The heroine is traveling in the Mandakini train. She has a newborn baby in her lap. This baby cries a lot when he is hungry and gives milk by lifting the bodice. Someone objected to the angle of this scene of mother and child while someone seemed to be rude in editing the scene. Brist Feeding In this scene, Rajakpur's fans seemed to be an artistic representation of the mother's love for the child, while the critics saw it as ugly.

Mandakini became an overnight star with the film Ram Teri Ganga Maili but the son of a great father seemed annoyed that he did not even benefit from a film like Home Farming. Father Rajakpur was held responsible for Mandakini's role being stronger and his role weaker. The father and son had long been at odds over this matter. It is believed that Rajiv requested his father Rajakpur to make one more film for himself but Rajakpur refused to make the film. The son had hired Rajiv as an assistant in his shooting unit. Rajiv felt that his father was also absent from Rajakpur's funeral.

Rajiv also tried his hand at film production and directing. Father Rajakpur made a film called Premarog based on widow remarriage with Vachet's son Rishikpur in which Rajiv did a good job as an assistant director under his father's guidance. Rajakpur was making a film called Hina with his eldest son Rishikpur. In which a girl named Zeba Bakhtiar from Pakistan was chosen as the heroine. The songs of Hina film were recorded by Rajakpur but the production of the film was incomplete. After the demise of her father, Hina film was taken over by Rajiv Kapoor. As Hina was the dream film of late Rajakpur, the fans liked and praised the song-music. Rajiv Kapoor acted as an actor in some films like Lover Boy, Jaljala, Hum To Chale Pardesh and Angare but did not have much success.

In 19, Rajiv independently directed a film called Prem Granth. The film starring elder brother Rishikpur and Madhuri Dixit was also beaten. This Ab Laut Chale film was made in 19th under the production of RK Banner. The film starring Akshay Khanna and Aishwarya Rai caught the attention of the people but was not particularly successful. In 2001, Rajiv married Aarti Sabharwal, an architect by profession, but their marriage did not last long. After that Rajiv Kapoor lived single in Mumbai and he has no children.
