In the South, Rajinikanth is considered as God. Rajinikanth celebrated his 71st birthday on December 16.

Rajinikanth was born into a poor family on December 16, 190. Today he owns crores of rupees because of his acting. His net worth is said to be Rs 3 crore. He is popular not only in Southern films but also in Bollywood as well as all over the world.

Rajinikanth's real name is Shivajirao Gaekwad. He was the youngest of four siblings. His father Ramoji Rao Gaekwad was a Havildar. His mother Jijabai died when Rajinikanth was five years old. He worked as a porter as well as a bus conductor to balance the household finances. Seeing that he was giving tickets in a unique way in the bus, a friend of his advised him to move towards acting.

Rajinikanth started his film career with the Tamil film Apoorva Ragangal. He then made his blind entry in Bollywood. He was accompanied by Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Reena Roy. Rajinikanth has acted in many Bollywood films since then.

The most interesting thing about Rajinikanth's marriage is that he fell in love with Lata Rangachari, the young lady who came to interview him. Initially they were just friends but gradually fell in love and got married. He has two daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya.
