Actually, I did not want to play the role of a mother of four young sons. When director Ravi Chopra narrated the story of this film to me, I was not at all ready to become a mother of four young sons. But my mother told me that if Amitabh Bachchan can play the role of a father to four young sons, you can also play the role of their mother. I finally accepted this movie.

Actress Sambhartha further says at the time that the makers of the film had assured me that my look would not be that of an old woman with white hair. Rather, I will be shown as I am. And he kept his venus.

Talking about the influence of her co-star Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Mali says that when he entered the sets, the faces of everyone present lit up. Everyone seemed to say in unison, 'Amitji aa gaye.' It may be mentioned here that Hema Malini worked with Amitabh Bachchan in a number of films like 'Sholay' (1975) and 'Sattey Pe Satta' (1982). He was shooting for the film 'Das' at that time. When Esha told me about the popularity of our movie, I thought she was joking. But it was not a joke, it was reality.

Recently a TV channel said about it that Hema Malini had done 'Sita Aur Geeta' with Sanjeev Kumar. The two met with an accident while shooting for the song 'Hava Ke Saath Saath...' from this movie in the mountains. At that time, both were worried about each other more than themselves. Both of them started feeling bad for each other. Sanjeev Kumar wanted to marry Hema Mali. Writers Hanif Javari and Sumant Batra have also mentioned this in their book. When Hema Malini meets Sanjeev Kumar's mother, she falls head over heels. However, later the relationship between the two soured.

In fact, Sanjeev Kumar wanted to marry a girl who would stay at home and serve his mother. While for Hema Malini, her career took center stage. As a result, there was a distance between the two. Sanjeev Kumar never married after his separation from Hema Malini. And unfortunately he passed away at the age of 47 only.
