Akashdeep and Sheeba's love story has been 27 years

- 'One has to make special efforts to understand the work pressure and strange schedules in the glamor industry. You have to be prepared to bear with a mature attitude. The sky is ripe like that'

- This nineties actress has also achieved success in TV series apart from films

The successful heroine of the 90s, Sheba, who rose to fame with Salman Khan in 'Sooryavanshi', went on to do films like 'Miss 420', 'Sanam Teri Kasam' and 'Pyaar Ka Rog'. After that he did successful series like 'Kutumb', 'Karisma-The Miracles of Destiny' and 'Haasil'. Shiba's love story is interesting.

The first meeting between Sheeba and Akashdeep is interesting. Akashdeep went to meet Shiba in 1994 to offer her the role of heroine in one of his films. Akashdeep fell in love with Sheeba as soon as he saw her. Sheba knew that it was love at first sight. Akashdeep's friends Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi and Himalaya-Bhagyashree showed the green flag. Akash starts dating Sheeba. At that time, the shooting of Sheeba's film 'Miss 420' was going on. Reminiscing about that time, Shiba says, 'Akash was so shy by nature that he didn't even have the guts to gift me a bracelet. He sent me a gift of a bracelet through my driver. Akash made a whole book to propose, with a picture of me and then some quote or share-shayari written on it. I still have this proposal book intact!'

Since both are Punjabis, communication between them became easy. They fell in love and got married two years later in 1996.

Says Sheeba, 'Akash has a great sense of humor. I was attracted to him because of his sense of humor. After dating for six-seven months, we decided to get married. At that time I asked my father that I should not get my Kundli? Then my father asked that if you don't get your horoscope then you won't do this marriage? I said that no, Kundali or not, I will marry Akash. My father did not fall into the trap of getting Kundli. We finally got married on 27 November 1996 at Hotel Horizon in Mumbai in the presence of our families.'

After marriage, Akash and Sheeba were going to Australia's Gold Coast as backpackers for their honeymoon. After marriage, she was clear about her independent career. They decided that they would shoulder the responsibilities of the family equally and neither of them would try to outdo each other for their careers. Then it happened that Akash got the job of directing Sheeba as the heroine in 'Karisma-The Miracles of Destiny', but Akashdeep understood so much that he kept Sheeba as the boss at home. Sheeba says, 'Akash is not a husband who wants to keep his wife in awe. I am not expected to do all the housework and am never angry with myself if I come home late from work. Both of us being in the same profession, we both understand the pressure of work. In the glamor industry, you have to make a special effort to understand the work pressure and strange schedules. You have to be prepared to bear with a mature attitude. Akash is mature in that way and also takes care of the house. When our two sons Hydya and Bhavishi were young, I used to do double shifts. At that time Akash was also taking care of the children.'

Sheba, a veteran of today's generation's nuclear family craze, says, 'We got married and moved away from our parents. Thus, after living apart for five years, we decided to move in with Akash's parents. I was very happy to return to the joint family. Being an in-law has benefited me a lot. Today I can leave my children at home and go to work. I don't worry about who will take care of my children in my absence.'

Akash and Sheba have been married for 27 years. Akashdeep says, 'Our relationship is as evergreen today as it was in the beginning. We do not compromise on any issue. Even after becoming parents we are becoming each other's special friends. Our relationship has become stronger. We never have to beg each other for space nor do we have to compromise. We are sick of love and the disease of love has affected us even in our married life...'
