The first film of his career was a superhit, freeing his father from debt

Rishi Kapoor started his career with his father Raj Kapoor's film Bobby. Dimple Kapadia teamed up with her in the film when she was just 16 years old. Raj Kapoor teamed up with Dimple to launch his son Rishi. The Bobby movie was actually the first teenage love story. He received his debut award in this film.

Bobby Superduper proved to be a hit movie. After the release of the film, a rumor spread that Dimple was the daughter of Raj Kapoor and Nargis. The love between Raj Kapoor and Nargis was public.

In 190, Raj Kapoor came up with his dream project Mera Naam Joker but the film failed at the box office. In fact, it took five-six years to complete the film, so it was time to sell Raj Kapoor's wife's jewelery. The Kapoor family was mired in debt. Raj Kapoor launched his son Rishi in Bobby to get out of debt and the film became a huge hit. After this Raj Kapoor's days went by again. The popularity of the Bobby movie was such that special buses called Bobby Bus were run to reach the theaters of small villages and towns.

One thing was that Raj Kapoor was in financial position to remunerate the top star as he was mired in debt. That being said, one top star refused to work with him. Although other actors showed willingness to do Ka Makarwa without fees but Raj Kapoor later decided to launch the son only.
