Even today, it is a pity for Juhi Chawla to reject Yash Chopra's 'Dil To Pagal Hai'

It has been 20 years since the late filmmaker Yash Chopra started his production house. In the Hindi film industry, Yash Chopra was known as the 'King of Romance'. One of his superior romantic movies still enchants viewers years later. Each of their heroines has topped Bollywood. One such heroine is Juhi Chawla. At a young age, Juhi's sweet tone, curly hair and naughty-flirtations would captivate people's minds. Is it true that such a beautiful actress does not come to the notice of Yash Chopra now? Naturally, Juhi caught his eye and he also did some films together.

Yash Chopra first took Juhi as a guest actor in his blockbuster film 'Chandni', at which time Juhi Chawla's movie 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' was a huge success. However, it was not easy for Juhi to work with her beloved actress Sridevi and senior actor Vinod Khanna in 'Chandni'. He was as scared as he was excited to work in this film. The film's cinematographer and legendary creator Yash Chopra posed for a photo session with Juhi in the white outfit she wore in the song 'Lagi Aaj Sawan Ki Phir Wo Zadi Hai .... Juhi says the song was immediately shot at Chandivali Studios. His choreography was to be done by Saroj Khan so I was a little nervous.

But I was relieved that the shooting went well. Then I went to meet Yash Chopra in a room of a five star hotel. The room was transferred to the hospital. Yash Chopra took one glance at me and asked Pandharidada to change my makeup a little. When he told Yash Chopra that Juhi was about to give a dying shot now so the black circles under his eyes would look appropriate, he replied that the heroine must look beautiful in any case. "Even after 21 years, I still remember this literally," Juhi added.

The funny thing is that during the rest of the shooting, Juhi kept a mouthful of CV, she was so impressed with senior actor Vinod Khanna that she could not open her mouth in front of him.

Juhi goes on to say that when other filmmakers completed the story of the film in just three lines, Honey Irani, the author of Yash Chopra's movie 'Aina', told me the whole script. Yash Chopra himself told me the story of 'Darr' and we were going to spend twenty-five days in Switzerland shooting for him so he already grabbed my photos with each of my outfits and made the necessary changes.

Juhi, who recalls his experience during the shooting of 'Darr', says that Aditya, the son of Nyash Chopra, was his assistant in the movie and I would look at him questioningly after each scene to see if I had given the shot correctly. Also, Switzerland's schedule was very tight. We would get up at six in the morning and travel by bus in an hour to reach the location. There was no vanity vans at that time so Shah Rukh Khan would change his clothes behind the tree and I would change the clothes by putting curtains on the bus. With my makeup and hairstyle on the bus, all the rain stopped the shooting and I got on the bus. Often people sit in the bus for hours, but when they are with funny people like Yash Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan, the question of boredom does not arise. After the shooting, we all ate Punjabi food.

Even after the shooting of the film was over, we would meet to celebrate Holi-Diwali and Yash Chopra would jokingly say to me, 'Why is she the most beautiful woman in India?'

Even today, it is a pity to turn the actress after Yash Chopra's movie 'Dil To Pagal Hai'. He says that at that time I was young and my mind was filled with the mustard of my success. So even though Yash Chopra explained a lot to me, I did not agree to work with Madhuri Dixit as another heroine in this movie. This will stay with me for the rest of my life and we have never had a chance to work together since then.
