Pride for Gujaratis: The Last Show film shortlisted for Oscar, RRR's song too

There is a proud news for Gujaratis. The Gujarati language film Chhello Show - The Last Show is India's official entry for the 2023 Academy Awards in the International Film category and has also been shortlisted for next year's Academy Awards - Oscar Awards. Along with this, the very popular song of Rajamouli's film RRR - 'Natu Natu' (Nacho Nacho) has also been shortlisted in the Best Original Song category. Along with this, 2 films have been shortlisted in the Documentary Feature Film category, which are All That Breathes and The Elephant Whispers. The Academy released the list of shortlisted entries last Wednesday night. The final Oscar nominations will be announced on January 24.

Gujarati film The Last Show - is in competition with 14 other films in this category including Argentina, 1985, Decision to Leave, All Quiet on the Worston Front, Close and The Blue Kaftan.

This year's film RRR was released across India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages ​​and has been submitted in different Oscar categories. Next month, the film will participate in the Golden Globe Awards - Best Non-English Film and its song 'Natu-Natu' in the Best Original Song category.

The 95th Academy Awards – The Oscars will be held on March 12, 2023 at the Dolly Theater in LA.

Films from India that received official Oscar entries include - Koozangle, Jallikattu, Gully Boy, Village Rockstar, Newton, Visaranani but none of these films made it to the shortlist. Mother India, Salaam Bombay and Lagaan were the only films that managed to reach Oscar nominations, but everyone is very excited about the last show.
