Sanjay Leela Bhansali dropped the remake of Baiju Bawra

- The shooting was to start soon with Alia and Ranveer

- In the present scenario of Bollywood, it was not convenient to make a big budget film with a flop star like Ranveer.

Mumbai: There are reports that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shelved his ambitious film 'Baiju Bawra' for now. Sanjay Leela decided to make a remake of Meena Kumari's all-time classic 'Baiju Bawra' released in 1952 with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Its pre-production work was also said to have started. But, now this project is said to be overcrowded.

According to rumors in Bollywood circles, Bhansali had thought of a huge budget for this film. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn't think it was right to take a huge financial risk in Bollywood where five flops are going against one film. Moreover, currently Ranveer Sih's career is also in bad shape. Some of his previous films have failed at the box office. In these circumstances, it is also possible that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not ready to take a huge risk by taking Ranveer as the main star.

A huge challenge for Sanjay Leela for this remake was also the music. All the songs rendered by Naushad in the original 'Baiju Bawra' are considered to be part of the golden age of Bollywood. It's incredibly difficult to create music like that now. Although Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for popular music in his films, reaching the level of the original music of 'Baiju Bawra' was very challenging.

According to discussions in Bollywood circles, Bhansali is now likely to make a film with a star like Shah Rukh or Salman. He is also expected to dust off his old project 'Inshallah'.
