- Doubts about the release of Akshay Kumar's film
- Producers' Objection: Adult Only would not make sense with Sex Ed.'s theme
Mumbai: In Akshay Kumar's 'Oh My God Too', the Censor Board's revision committee suggested 20 cuts and proposed to give it an adult only certificate, making the producers upset. The producers have opposed this proposal of the censors saying that making the film with the theme of sex education adult only will kill the original purpose. The impasse between the filmmakers and the Censor Board has led to speculations in the trade circuit about whether the film will be able to release on time.
A film receiving an adult only certificate means that children under the age of 18 cannot watch the film. The makers argue that the fan base of the original film 'Ohmy God' included a large number of children and now such a large section cannot be excluded from the film. This movie is basically for teenagers. The film's review committee suggested cuts in both audio and visuals, meaning some scenes and dialogues. It is said that Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi himself watched the film along with the review committee.
The release date of the film is missing from the song released after the film was handed over to the review committee. Hence, now doubts have started whether the film will release on time. Word has spread in the trade circuit that the makers are now left with no option but to shelve the film.
